Abingdon RDA is a registered nonprofit founded in 1975 that offers unique therapeutic riding opportunities to over 90 children and adults, whose ages range from 2 to 80+.

The Abingdon RDA Group caters for many diverse disabilities, including learning difficulties, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and a variety of syndromes.
We have an average of 11 working ponies and horses at any one time and they do a magnificent job for our disabled riders.
Participants enjoy the experience of riding, with opportunities to join social activities, competitions or go to the National Championships. These experiences bring a new dimension to their lives, encourage independence, build confidence, and generally improve their well-being.
“RDA has been a massively positive weekly session for our family, at what has at various times felt like a difficult and challenging time to navigate. Ann, the coaches and the volunteers have all been an enormous part of this.”
- Ellie K., (Parent)

Our charity wouldn’t exist without the dedication of our volunteers, who regularly give their time and energy to ensure that the Group provides riding therapy year-round.

Our Centre is a place of great achievement, where new friendships are formed, confidence is built, and medical conditions are often improved.
